With all the tattoos Angelina Jolie has gotten over the years, there are bound to be some that have been removed or covered up. Because life is full of changes, using the body as a journal of events will sometimes result in the need for removal or substitution. But instead of a journal that can be erased, or a page removed, body art requires removal through techniques like lasers or a very artistic way to cover up a present tattoo with another one. Angelina has done this to several tattoos as well. The most prominent being the removal of the Billy Bob Thornton tattoo.

Angelina removed her Billy Bob Thornton tattoo along with the small dragon that was on her left shoulder. The tattoo is the words " Billy Bob" with a Chinese style dragon below. This tattoo was replaced by the coordinates of the birthplaces of her two children. |

Angelina Jolie's old tattoos also include a small Chinese style dragon on her left abdomen area as well, which is now covered up by the tilted black cross. |

Angelina's tattoo of the Chinese symbol for death which was located on her left should blade was covered up with a Buddhist sanscript prayer for her family. A very nice upgrade which can probably be credited to Maddox. |

Angelina also had the Chinese symbol for courage which was removed and replaced with the Tennesee Williams' quote as well as a special tattoo she got with Billy Bob Thornton on her right forearm that was covered up with the Arabic tattoo. |
