Ankle Tattoos
Pictures and descriptions of Ankle Tattoos
Ankle tattoos have become very popular because of their less noticeable location and still highly sexy area. Most ankle tattoos are located near the higher ankle as there is more room and ideal locations for viewing. Because the area is so small, tattoos here are smaller as well and do not draw as much attention as a tattoo on the arm would. The idea for tattoos here, is to get creative and match personality in such a small area. Normal tattoos like hearts and stars are okay here but more creative ones like fairies, bees, and other smaller, detailed objects are more suited for the ankle. Remember as eyes go down the body, they flow through the legs and to the ankles where a detailed tattoo can be a nice addition. Ankle tattoos are also a great place for newcomers to body art because the location can be covered up and less noticeable.
Celebrity Ankle Tattoos
A few celebrities have some interesting designs on their ankles which are not as noticeable but come through when they wear those dresses that show off their legs or wear party attire.

Starting with Alyssa Milano, the tattoo on her right ankle is very nicely done. This particular on is on the higher part of the ankle with a wrap around flower design. The tattoo is highly detailed with a mix of colors, leaves, and petals. Wrap around tattoos are great for the ankle because the are does not change much, even over time, unlike tattoos on the bicep area which can change drastically. There are other great wrap around tattoo designs as well but at www.find-tattoo-designs.com, barb wire is not one of them suited for the ankle. |

Charlize Theron has a small fish tattoo on her inner right ankle. The design is simple and not too flashy but shows another variation of an ankle tattoo. A small tattoo can be located around the ankles in higher and lower locations. |

The higher variation can be seen here with Drew Barrymore's very detailed cross tattoo that runs from the upper ankle to the lower leg region. |
